Realizing that artists have historically been pioneers in downtowns across the United States, ART 316 serves as a catalyst to greater downtown Des Moines development. Because of its location as the southern anchor for the Court Avenue Historic Distric, this area has been identified in the Court Avenue Housing Study as an Arts District.
Art 316 is just a short walk from restaurants, shops, theaters and live music within Court Avenue, as well as the newly completed Science Center of Iowa.
