I was born and raised in Des Moines, IA. I atended Des Moines Public Schools, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 2001. I studied Graphic Technologies at DMACC. After graduation in December 2006, I began working for Gannett as an image specialist.

Shortly after my 25th birthday I noticed a lump during a self-exam on my left breast. I was diagnosed with stage 2-breast cancer. Treatment included chemotherapy and most recently a bilateral mastectomy. Further treatments include more chemotherapy, radiation and reconstructive surgery. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.
